Still Making Something Out of Nothing

I’ve not written on here for a while.
Not because nothing’s been happening—more because everything has. Life shifted. Things slowed down. Some of it hit hard. Some of it just knocked the rhythm out of things.
But behind the scenes, I didn’t stop.
The studio’s been full of half-finished ideas, experiments, and bits of work that didn’t quite behave themselves. New materials, new processes, a few wins, a lot of trial and error.
Some of the work’s playful. Some of it’s a bit odd. Some of it doesn’t quite know what it is yet.
Which, to be honest, feels about right.
Somewhere in all that, I’ve realised something: even when it feels like you’re standing still, you’re not. Things are still moving—just not always in a straight line.
I’ve now extended my residency at Leeds Art University through to the end of July. More time to build, break, and push this work further.
Right now, it’s messy. But it’s honest.
And that’s enough.
Still here. Still making. Still turning life’s rubbish into something worth looking at.
